Libertarian ideas matter. They have consequences. When they enter people’s minds, they can change their way of thinking about liberty. I recently delivered presentations at the annual PorcFest festival in New Hampshire and FreedomFest conference in Las Vegas. At FreedomFest, I encountered a man who said to me, “Jacob, I would like you to know that your work at FFF has altered my life forever in the direction of liberty. Thank you very much for your work.”
That’s what we are all about here at FFF — placing the principled, uncompromising case for libertarianism into the marketplace of ideas, with the aim of finding the critical mass of people who understand that the way to secure a genuinely free society is the dismantling of, not the reform of, infringements on liberty.
It is imperative that we advocates of liberty keep something important in mind: No matter who is elected president, we will still be living our lives as serfs, existing for no purpose other than to serve the regulatory state, welfare state, and warfare state. That’s because the problem we face is a systemic one, not one that involves getting “better” people into public office.
To get our nation back on the right track, we need a revolutionary change in our political-economic system. We need to abandon our current system of statism and restore a system based on individual liberty, free markets, private charity, and a limited-government republic.
Throughout history, great movements have been led by infinitesimally small minorities of people. It is this remnant of liberty adherents that is the light that is shining through the darkness of statism that has enveloped our nation. It is this remnant who can and will lead our nation to the highest reaches of freedom, peace, prosperity, and harmony that mankind has ever seen.
We are honored and grateful that your financial support has provided us with the resources to present the principled, uncompromising case for liberty so far this year — and for the past 34 years. If you could help us get through the rest of the year with a generous tax-deductible donation, we will be equally honored and appreciative.
