Remember that big, bad Department of Education that Republicans were going to abolish once voters would give them control of Congress? Its budget in 1995 was $24.4 billion; this year, it increases to $35.6 billion! The Washington Post put it well: ‘Republicans decided it was wiser to yield than fight.’ Look at the bright side: you were witness to the first pro-government revolution in history.”
