“The Coast Guard found a five-year-old Cuban refugee in the ocean clinging to an inner tube. The boy’s mother and stepfather and several other Cubans drowned when their boat capsized. Fortunately, the Coast Guard did not attack the boy with water cannons and pepper spray, like it recently did with other Cuban refugees. It also did not repatriate the boy to Cuba, as it does with other Cuban refugees. Cuban-Americans are outraged that the boy might be returned to his father in Cuba. If only they were equally outraged when our government repatriates other Cuban refugees into communist tyranny.”
