We are extremely honored to have David Henderson speaking at our upcoming June 6-8 conference “Restoring the Republic 2008: Foreign Policy and Civil Liberties.” Not only is David one of the most brilliant economic thinkers in the country, he is also among those who is devoting his intellectual energy to moving our country in a better, more freer direction with respect to foreign policy and civil liberties.
David is a research fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, one of the most prestigious organizations in the country. He is also an associate professor of economics at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He served as an economic advisor to President Reagan’s Council of Economic Advisers.
He is the editor of The Concise Encyclopedia of Economics, and his book The Joy of Freedom: An Economist’s Odyssey, published by Financial Times Prentice Hall, has been translated into Chinese. His articles have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Barron’s, Fortune, Los Angeles Times, and many other publications. He has also testified before Congress on various matters.
To get a sense of Henderson’s analytical mind, take a look at his most recent article, which is linked in today’s FFF Email Update. It is entitled, “Jeremiah Wright: True and False.” Taking on the controversy over racism in the Barack Obama campaign, you will easily see how Henderson deftly employs his intellectual scalpel to expose in a well-reasoned, dispassionate way the real issues involved in the controversy.
David is clearly one of those academics who is able to address not just a scholarly audience but a lay audience as well. There is no doubt that attendees at our upcoming conference will truly improve their knowledge of economics and foreign policy with his talk.
The conference will be held on June 6-8 (Friday morning through Sunday night) at the Hyatt Regency Reston in Reston, Virginia, one of the nicest areas of northern Virginia. (It’s best to fly into Dulles Airport but Reagan and BWI will work as well.) The conference price is $495, which includes all Hyatt Regency meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — during the 3 days of the conference plus admission to all 19 speeches.
To register for the conference, go to our conference website or call us at 703-934-6101. Remember to make your hotel reservations at the Hyatt Regency Reston after you register for the conference; be sure to mention the FFF conference to secure the special discounted rate of $149 per night, which is incredibly cheap for a Hyatt in the D.C. area in June.
Don’t delay! Register today!
Sincerely,
Jacob Hornberger
