Ever since I discovered libertarianism, two of my foremost heroes have been — and continue to be — Lew Rockwell and Bob Higgs, who will both be speaking at our exciting upcoming June 6-8 conference “Restoring the Republic 2008: Foreign Policy and Civil Liberties.”
Lew is president of the Ludwig von Mises Institute, which he founded in 1981. It is the foremost website devoted to the promulgation of the free-market school of thought known as “Austrian economics.” He is also the editor of six books and the author of thousands of articles appearing in journals, magazines, and newspapers as well as a commentator for radio and television.
Lew is also the founder and editor of LewRockwell.com, the leading daily libertarian page of articles on the Internet. Six days a week, LRC readers are treated to an array of hard-hitting, passionate, educational, and entertaining articles on all aspects of libertarian thought, especially with respect to foreign policy and civil liberties. LRC is one of the websites that I visit every day.
Bob Higgs, who serves as senior fellow in political economy for the Independent Institute, is the author of Crisis and Leviathan, which has become a classic in the libertarian movement. Having earned his doctorate in economics at Johns Hopkins University, he is the author of seven other books, the most recent of which are Depression, War, and Cold War: Studies in Political Economy (2006) and Neither Liberty nor Safety: Fear, Ideology, and the Growth of Government (2007).
Bob’s articles have appeared in such publications as the Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, and Financial Times. He also has appeared on many radio and television programs, including on NPR, NBC, ABC, C-SPAN, PBS, and Voice of America.
If I were asked to list libertarian authors whose intellectual integrity is impeccable, Lew Rockwell and Bob Higgs would certainly be in my Top 10 list. When liberty is once again restored to our land, Lew Rockwell and Bob Higgs will have played a major role in that achievement. If you have never heard them speak, now is your chance to do so. And if you have heard them speak, you surely know that it’s worth it to hear them again.
To register for the conference, go to our conference website or call us at 703-934-6101. Remember to make your hotel reservations at the Hyatt Regency Reston after you register for the conference; be sure to mention the FFF conference to secure the special discounted rate of $149 per night, which is incredibly cheap for a Hyatt in the D.C. area in June.
Don’t delay! Register today!
Sincerely,
Jacob Hornberger
