Three more weeks to our June 1-4 conference Restoring the Republic: Foreign Policy and Civil Liberties. If you havent yet registered, you still have time to do so. This is sure to be one of the most exciting and most memorable conferences in libertarian history!
Monday morning of the conference wraps up with two great speeches by Ted Galen Carpenter and Bob Barr.
Ted Carpenter, vice president for defense and foreign policy studies at the Cato Institute, is one of the most well-respected scholars on foreign policy in the nation. His principled tracts against foreign interventionism have brought immeasurable credit to the libertarian movement. Ted was among the first speakers we invited because a libertarian conference on foreign policy would be incomplete without his participation.
One of the nations leading defenders of privacy, former Republican Congressman Bob Barr has courageously battled for civil liberties since he left Congress, including standing against the Patriot Act and President Bushs program of warrantless wiretapping. Firmly committed to the Bill of Rights, he works with such diverse groups as the NRA to protect gun rights and the ACLU to protect privacy. In 2006, he became a regional representative on the Libertarian Partys National Committee.
